Design and Looks
The phone measures at 106.4 x 59 x 13.7 and weighs about 132 g. The major part of the screen is used by the 2.8 inch screen 480x640 pixel screen which has a good response with touch. The sunlight eligibility is not great and unusable in bright colors. The left spine of the handset comes along with a volume rocker whereas the right hand side offers the microSD slot as well as the power and camera shutter button.
The phone offers an Icon Matrix user interface that displays all of the applications in home screen in square icons with a 3D view. With a single tap on these icons the applications open up immediately. These applications include date, time , contacts and so on. The X960 offers email and access to the internet with the HSDPA and Wi-Fi connections. The handset also features the GPS satnav and comes preinstalled with Google maps.
The camera on the X960 is the 3.2 megapixel camera which is accessible through the Start Menu or from the camera button located at the side. The camera sensor can take good clear pictures. The camera supports a led flash and comes with a 3x zoom which is a bit tough to operate.
The battery on the phone would take 8 hours to charge initially and the company recommends that the phone be charged every day. There is no onscreen indicator about the battery health. The indicator thus is an LED indicator located on phone's casing that starts flashing red when the battery turns low.
The performance of the phone is decent and so is the call quality. Overall the phone comes along with a nice set of features but lacks the competition provided by other manufacturers in the same segment. The battery on the phone is sluggish and requires frequent charge. In conclusion the Wi-Fi, HSDPA and Bluetooth connectivity ensures a fast access to email and web with a user friendly user interface.
